Free website check for small businesses
Type your business website address. In about 20 seconds you see, in plain English, what a customer or Google runs into on your home page, and a free step-by-step guide for anything that needs fixing. No sign-up, nothing stored.
These are the same checks I ran on 43,077 small-business home pages in 2026.
What it checks
- Is the site up, and does it answer with your page rather than an error?
- Does it have a working secure (https) address, and do visitors who type the plain address land on it?
- Do any images, scripts or styles still load over insecure http:// (browsers block or flag them)?
- Does it fit a phone screen (the mobile viewport tag)?
- Does it have a page title and a search snippet, or is Google making them up?
- Does the footer still show an old copyright year?
- Is the phone number a tap-to-call link? Does the contact form rely on mailto:?
- Is the WordPress version published in the page, or behind the current release?
- Do images have descriptions, are any over 1 MB, and do links to your own pages work?
It reads your home page once, as a visitor would, plus a quick look at up to 12 images and 10 of your own links. It does not log in, change anything, or keep the address you type (results are cached for 10 minutes, then gone).
This check and the guides it links to were built with an AI system I run; I am responsible for what is delivered. All guides and before-and-after examples.
